Tourism Statistics
Venture Taranaki commissions and provides a regular range of statistics and other insights around the region’s visitor numbers.

The information is supplied to help businesses in and supporting the visitor industry, and is sourced through Statistics New Zealand, the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment and APR consultants.

The Statistics NZ Commercial Accommodation Monitor (CAM) measures the number of bed nights stayed in the region’s hotels, motels, backpackers and holiday parks, and reports on a quarterly basis at both regional and district level, while commissioned Qrious data is used to determine those visiting friends and relatives (VFR). The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment supplies the Monthly Regional Tourism Estimates of Expenditure.

If you’d like further information on the region’s visitor industry, please contact the team at Venture Taranaki.
