This is a first notice of the 1st New Zealand Ginseng Symposium to be held in Rotorua on Friday 13 April 2018.

The ginseng symposium is being hosted by the New Zealand Ginseng Association and the venue is the Rimu Conference Room at Scion headquarters, 49 Sala Street, Rotorua.
Ginseng has been grown commercially in New Zealand since the 1900s and is slowly making its mark as a new industry for New Zealand.  Ginseng is known as the "King of the Herbs" in China and has been in use there for more than 4,000 years and a cure-all for many ailments.

Research over the past 20 years confirms that parts of New Zealand are suitable for growing good quality ginseng as an under story crop to pine trees. The symposium will provide potential growers and investors with a wealth of information for those considering entering this exciting new industry.

A full conference program with speaker profiles and sponsors will be available in due course. The symposium will be ideal for forestry companies and investors interested in knowing more about how the NZ ginseng industry is developing. Speakers have been selected for their knowledge and experience in the ginseng industry. There will also be ginseng displays provided by the ginseng companies currently operating in New Zealand at the Symposium.
The Rimu Conference Room at Scion has a seating capacity of about 70 and about 10 seats are reserved for speakers and guests. Registrations will be accepted on a first in  first served basis with payment.
